2014 MTN FAZ Super league champions Zesco United completed a season double on Saturday afternoon when they demolished former league champions Nkana 3 – 0 in the Barclays Cup final.
Goals from Maybin Mwaba, Winstone Kalengo and substitute Simon Silwimba were enough to ensure that Zesco maintained their unbeaten run against Nkana.

Awe mwandi..,,ni zeee!
I knew Zesco would do it. Congrats and dont disappoint us in CAF games.
Malama and Muthali should stay away from the National team….They were the weakiest links for Nkana against Zesco FC today……
well done ba zesco(zed power}
I think Zesco is very good team with a good record in continental games. i followed their champions league campaign in 2009 when they reached the group stages, they were playing very well with the likes of Kunda Mushota, Rodgers Kamwandi, and Nyambe mulenga at the back, Upfront they had Sakuwaha and Bisa, while in the midfield they had chipalo. I think this current squad is good but not compared to the squad of 2009. My appeal is to the Zesco technical team and coach as well as the management to try to add more depth to the squad because continental football comes with its own challenges, therefore it is good to have even 2 teams that can compete competitively both in Caf games and Mtn league games.
I think Red Arrows must b feeling foolish n stupid. How do u fire a coach who has given a 4th place finish in the league n wins u the Barclays Cup in the same season. A year later, the same coach wins a double while u were busy fighting relegation to the wire.
Yeah! This goes to show that in football, the quality and impact of a coach matters; you fire him, you end up fighting relegation and where he goes he makes the team win a double when the previous season they were not as powerful. It reminds me of some people who are always labelling an AFCON winning coach as pathetic. Kikikikikikiki!
congrats Zega mambo. make sure you prepare adequately and reinforce the team where necessary. atleast reach the group stage for mother Zambia.
Yes Malama and Munthali are not good players to be in final Chipolopolo going to africa cup.these guys are too slow and unskilled!let coach Janza look for other quality defenders.
Well done Zesco. On to conquer the continent again.
We accept defeat and we’re just beaten by a better side coupled with our useless coach Chambeshi- can’t understand why he keeps unfairly not using the mercurial Shadreck Musonda -during the Assembly match last week, we had to force him to use Shadreck who came on and scored a cracker of a left footer. Infact in all Lusaka matches this season (Zanaco, GBFC, Assembly etc) he’s come on, changed the tempo and scored brilliant goals.
Morning blogz, please you should be chacking out the Indian league, its not as bad as most of you perceive it. I think its one of the most competiteve leagues in the world.
The ISL(hero Indian soccer league) according to a recent poll is the 4th most popular league in the world,us students watch it every weekend.our team Chennai is currently toping the league.
We need more cup competitions to make the league more competitive, the private sector needs to make more of an effort in introducing more cup competitions to make the league more attractive.
These two failures Donashano and Munthali should be dropped from the national team. Bushe is Janza too blind to see that those two are not national team materials? It seriously hurts us as fan being subjected to such kind of below par performances demonstrated by those 2..
Do you know that NKANA as a plance in cofed caf cup zambia will have TWO teams in cofed cup and one in CHAMPION leag
I watched it too munthali is a very poor defender i wonder what janza sees in him coz i see a person who will be the weakest link at afcon
Mulenga Sikazwe, I agree with u 100%. I also watch the ISL. It. It z has more flare than the ZPL. Khondwani Mtonga n Isaac Chansa r enjoying game tym at their club Northeast united. Khodwani shud b recalled to the national team.
@Uncle Bob.Coaches are strange. The player always delivers when given a few minutes on the pitch but you consistently ignore him.
Ba mudala,Malama and Munthali are not ready for a tournament of Afcon’s magnitude.
I also wonder why We still maintain Chintu assistant coach at the national team leaving out Lwandamina and Wedson Nyirenda. These two can change the Chipolopolo at AFCON.If We cant change the coach at-least include these two.
Mane starts ahead of mayuka again. wonder what wud hapen if mayuka was given such gametime. just a thought
Mandela cup RSA 2-0 CIV Renard guys are bunched again
Mayuka in with 10 Mins to go
STUMPY I feel Mayuka needs to improve on his positioning when he plays, tends to hides within defenders and get starved with the ball
@ sikabinda, its true kondwani should be part of the national team going to afcon, Chansa too, these guys are playing Good football.
Guys update on mayuka pliz, how is playing?
SA sa really means business this time around. All that what the veteran Coach has done is have faith in young hungrier players and they seem to be doing the job for him.
Chansa,CK11,sakuwaha,Chamanga,Muthali and Malama if these players will be on the 2015 AFCON plane then it will be not on merit but essentially players that who ever does the selections will be getting kick backs.
Zamfoot could you update us
Janza jocob we need him
Mayuka needs enough game time. I was disappointd with some saints players, they never passed the ball to mayuka
Honestly Mayuka should just leave Southampton he isn’t been given a fair chance to showcase his skills. Koeman has been ignoring him the only reason he has let him play now is because he is aware Mayuka has qualified for the afcon. It there for means Mayuka is one of the best players in Africa. Guys for up do date information visit the chipololpolo die hards on Facebook those guys update very fast.
Thanks john for that infor Chipolopolo die hards is loaded with stuff.
I am watching Mtonga in the Hero IPL,he is better than Munthli if he can play in central defence and the comentetors were full of his praises.
Gents we can’t in all honesty still be on that tip of blaming Koeman on Mayuka..really now!! We should be applauding the fact that he is finally gettin some game time regardless of how little it is. Now he should build on that. Let’s not forget were the saints are sitting on the log. If Koeman was a coach who was unprofessional enough to ignore a player I doubt he would be sitting second on the log. Let’s applaud Mayuka getting game time and encourage the lad to increase his game time through good performance and not the “he should leave the club” story. He already left and the move failed dismally so let’s change approach. Running from a problem is not a solution.
jacob needs to be recalled,Janza.we dont want muntali in de team,AFCON is turff no try and error

KickOff.com can reveal that Platinum Stars are leading the race to sign one of the top Zambian strikers, Reynold Kampamba.
The Chipolopolo striker is also on the wanted-list of both Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United. However, Stars are currently looking like favourites to land the signature of the highly rated Nkana FC striker.
According to a source close to the player’s club in Zambia, Dikwena have made official contact and talks look promising.
“There are a few teams interested in Kampamba in South Africa. At the moment we are impressed with the manner in which Platinum Stars have approached us,” says an official at Nkana FC.
SuperSport had an offer to buy the player and loan him out again rejected by Nkana FC in February last year. Kampamba has also been linked to Orlando Pirates recently.
The 22-year-old has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Nkana this year and was the 2013 FAZ Super Division Golden Boot winner with 18 goals last year.
