The Zambia U-17 Girls recorded their first victory at the Ongoing COSAFA Championship after a resounding 15-0 win over Comoros earlier today.
This was the second game for Zambia and Coach Kaluba Kangwa praised the girls and said that lessons have been picked going into the next match.
“It was a very interesting and educative game, we are coming from the background of grassroots development, Comoros has stepped up from the first game they played they were working very hard, from our side our game it was interesting especially that we had to include those new players those that didn’t play in the first match to give them game time in order they develop,” he said.
With only one game to play in the group stage Coach, Kangwa still feels the Girls need more instructions and knowledge going forward.
“They are so many things that the girls need to improve on especially if we want them to play according to our instructions and how to approach the game, but we have to keep on emphasizing and give the girls more information because the last game will have a tactical approach as we play the host nation who have a win, but will make sure we play a very good game,” he said.
When it Comes to individual brilliance on the field of play Coach Kangwa was pleased with Cindy’s performance who walked away with the player of the match award with three goals and two assists to her name.
“Am happy our youngest player Cindy she was very much outstanding, she was listening and following Instructions, Shirley is also coming up very well and is improving so these are the players I playing according to Strategy, our Goalkeeper was not challenged but am sure will see them in the coming games,” he said.
