The Zambia U23 national team on Sunday started their race to the Congo Brazzaville All Africa Games by picking up a vital point away in Nigeria against their Nigerian counterparts.
Nigeria who qualified to the current round with an avalanche of goals over Gabon came in the match confident and pressed the Zambian from the start and almost broke the deadlock as early as the 18th minute when Etebo’s acrobatic kick hit the crossbar.
However, Zambia defended well and captain Toaster Nsabata was in fine form keep a clean sheet.

Good one from zambia U-23 team. A really nice result for you guys.
I saw some funny comments on the other thread, like team Nigeria is out already…. Are you kidding meeee,, Is it really that easy to knock us out in a 2-legged match… Common guys.
Wait till 11th of April to decide that.
Drawing Nigeria is a good result but it is far from the mean thing.
Congrats Zambia for a very good result, not easy to get a draw in Nigeria especially as your team hasn’t been playing any competitive games. But, the headline smacks a bit of bitterness on the part of the admin. I mean who hyped this team, let alone overhyped them?
Most Nigerians are looking forward to the present U-20 as the next great team, one would be hard-pressed to pick a player from this team that will make the final Olympic dream team squad next year as the present U-20 would have come of age by next year.
All the same, great result by Zambia!
Funny headline there… Overhyped Nigeria.
Overhyped as in what?…
Overhyped Nigeria team after 1st leg match… Why don’t you guys wait till after the 2nd led match…
Goodluck to you guys and your U-23 team.
Congrates Zambia, gud Results.Monthly Campin Is Now Bearin Fruits.
i was expecting a hiding to me this is a win,ba admin naimwe dont incite bitterness we all know all our teams have not been performing…
however zed calo cesu
its faz and kalu that we shoould direct out anger who cant see that our soccer is in seriously trouble
I was expecting a heavy beating. but a draw for is good enuf. jst good enuf
they have started making noise with a draw..mediocrity is really part of you and there is nothing anyone can do about that.its in your genes.
AYC Final
Nigeria 1-0 Senegal…… 21mins.
This is what the former Dream Team star, Pascal Patrick said before his team played the U23 Chipolopolo:
“I really don’t know much about the Zambians but I know we will beat them and qualify for the All Africa Games.
“I don’t think the Zambians can match us at this level because of the quality we possess which I don’t think they have.
“And you should also remember that we played two qualifiers against Gabon to make this round, while the Zambians didn’t and that makes us more competitive than they are,” Pascal opined.
gud enuf. for now
good result but more work ahead of us.
Ba admin, can u run a story entitled”trophiless Ghana mints bronze”
NOPE!! Errrm, MARTINEZ UR ANSWER IS NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Kekekekekekekekekeke..
Nigeria 1-0 Senegal……FULLTIME
Nigeria Champion of Africa Again.
Next is the world cup in New Zealand
martinez, you are already thinking about ghana when your country is regarded as useless in football.i dont know your definition for trophyless unless i believe that the poor standard of education has gone extreme.ghana is 4 times champions, and with the u20,ghana won the wc in 2009.
for more than 70 years, you have only one trophy to show off, whiles your junior teams are a disgrace to african football.look at how the whole nation is celebrating a draw..i think you are a real definition of mediocrity
Kwaaameeee, please spare us! No man, actually I am rejoicing with you! Congratulations! I burned up my coffins a long time ago! Hahahaha!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA –AMANDLA U DONT MEAN IT BUDDY- Kekekekekekekeke!!
Ummm!! SO AMANDLA WANA TELL HIS GOOD OLD PA

2DAY IS MONDAY AND GUESS WHAT, KWAME HAD IT YESTERDAY SO I AM WEAK AT WORK NOW..WELL THE BLACK SATELLITES OF GHANA OVER HYPED THEIR DEFEAT BY 3 GOALS TO -1..
ANYWAY, AMANDLA , GOOD MORNING!!
Oh Ghana boy sory I meant to put a time frame for the period the gold medal has eluded the black stars.Ghana has been my team for a long time until the time of the ill treatment we received in Kumasi.the pride that is mostly exhibited by Ghana n Nigeria is another thing I don’t like and that’s why I enjoyed seing Andre Ayew crying duyring the penalty shoot out @ the afcon finals.I know that the chipolopolo’s show down hasn’t been upto scratch lately but we have class coz form is temporal but class is permanent. I don’t nid to remind you that at senior level in our last three meetings we beat you twice in a roll to the extent that S.Muntari said it was too much for zambia to sit on your hapiness. Frustrations were planed and executed against us but if you’ll watch that game again at babayara stadium you will admit that zambia outplayed you and that our class was outstanding, we can simply say the best team lost. We just nid to put our house in order administratively plus the issue of the coach. @ senior level, Ghana is not threat to us may be @ junior level coz u have a we’ll structured system better than ours-im just being objective.
I will hold my comment for now and only comment after the return
game.U cnt trust Zambia 100%,they may be butchered at home next.but am wishng the boys well and congratulations shd b passd to them as a draw ws best result they cud evr cm wth playn away in Nig.
I expectd them to be beaten.bg up to the boys
dont mind this Ghana. he ate fufu prepared five days ago. so this has affected his stomach. he is also bitter that their team lost to small Mozambique and is envious of Zambia’s draw against the mighty Nigeria

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! Rotten fufu.
DAMN!! DID U JUST SAY A ROTEN FUFU? Hahahahahahahahah
COMMON MENN!! Kekekekekekeke
I don’t understand the logic behind picking Sate sate ahead of Moses Phiri in the starting 11
PATRICK, SATE SATE IS A DURABLE AND FLEXIBLE TYPE OF PLAYER THAT GHANAIANS HAVE NOTICED.
I BELIEVE HE IS THE LIKES OF STOPILA SUNZU WHOM OUR ASHANTI KING WROTE IN THE DAILLY NEWS PAPPERS THAT, SUNZU WILL PLAY ABROAD AND HE DID WITH
Umm ANDRE AYEW AT SOCHAUX..GIVE THE COACH CHANCE AND HE WILL DELIVER IT..
the only team I count from west Africa is Nigeria which has proven to be a thorn in our fresh. they have bitten us more than any other team on earth. Ghana head to head with us is in the same class with Somalia against Zambia. the only times Ghananias beat us was when the best that Ghana has played the Zambian pupils bassed in England and the time they made our team train in a garage. yet we have beatten Ghananians pants down

Probably this the line up from uor own lusakatimes ,i need sincere thinkers like positive-thinking to point out the so called PUPILS in this squad. Results in friendly matches arnt and wud never be a measure to guage a teams strenght but when some CRASS bloggers comment this way, then indeed they belong to the CRASS class.
well said
Zambia is missing on the world scene & comparing itself to Ghana because they beat Ghana? Do u guys understand football? In the EPL, Leicester city beat Manchester United in their first game. Leicester City is now sitting at th bottom of the table or: Do you compare Leicester City to Manchester United. No, for God’s sake . GHANA IS Manchester United & ZAMBIA is Leicester City.
World Cup appearances are a key to a football nation’s stand in world football. Zambia is cursed never to be ar the Mundial. Strive to achieve that and stop the nonsense of comparing yourselves to other West African nations.
A draw with Nigeria & the whole nation is rejoicing. They may declare a public holiday because of the draw. Mediocrity at the highest level.
Oh Lord. My fellow Zambians…smh. In as much as this draw is a plus, lets not act like we have qualified. There is a second leg to be played. Heaven knows that this second leg could easily be our undoing so lets just pump on the brakes and prepare for the next game. Lets not talk like we are suddenly world beaters. This is why I don’t blame some of these Ghana and Nigeria fans for looking at us with disdain.
Amandla is good, only hates it that his buddy is still cooking his liver on Mondays!!! Stop it if you want to see the Black Stars win Afcon Cup soon! I know you will!
Fellow blogers this z soccer we celebrate a good result regardless!!!is nigeria celebrateing the draw??? Only an idiot fells to say something good abt a team who gets a positive result in west africa to a teaM like Nigeria even Brazil or Germman would be positive abt this result!
True we should hold fire not until the ninty minutes plus and if in our favour that is the right time for jubilation.Nigeria is not celebrating because they drew at home and anything can happen away.
