Zambia U17 cleared of age cheating

The African Union Sports Commission has cleared the Zambia U17 national team participating in the regional zone 5 games in Zimbabwe of allegations of age cheating.

The commission had requested member nations to field players who were born after 1997 in the tournament for the men’s category, but the Zambian lads came under fire after a scintillating display against pre-tournament favorites South Africa which saw the Zambian lads thrash their counter parts by six goals to one.

The young Chipolopolo lead their group on goal difference closely followed by their next opponents Namibia who beat Lesotho by a goal to nil.
