It was a satisfactory weekend for Zambian players in the PSL with most players enjoying game-time while Christopher Katongo, Collins Mbesuma, Joseph Musonda and Kennedey Mweene all enjoyed wins with their clubs.
Mukuka Mulenga and Katongo on Sunday came up on opposite sides of the field when Bloemfontein Celtic hosted Bidvest Wits in a game Wits won via a late lone goal.
Mukuka played in the attacking midfield role and could have found the back of the net when he picked a loose ball in midfield, dashed for the area, side stepped his marker to unleash a ferocious shot which was parried to the cross-bar by M Josephs in the Wits goal.
Mukuka showed flashes of good form with some good vision and runs as he eclipsed his former national team captain who had an unusually quiet game. Katongo was substituted in the 63rd minute while Mulenga lasted 79 minutes.
Davies Nkausu did not make the bench for Celtic.
On Saturday, Mbesuma completed minutes as he continues to enjoy first team action for Mpumalanga Black Aces and this time he came up against country man Bornwell Mwape of Amazulu.
Non of the two Zambian goal poachers found the net on the day though Aces run away as 3 – 1 winners.
Mwape also completed the game for his club which is bottom of the log.
Mweene kept another clean sheet as he helped Sundowns to a 2 – 0 over his former club Free State Stars win which moved them into second position on the log.
Veteran Musonda completed a full game for Polokwane City who beat visiting Chippa United 3 – 1.
Polokwane City are currently in 8th position.
Clifford Mulenga came off the bench for Ajax Cape Town in their 0 – 0 draw against Supersport United.
At the moment we should aim at balacing our squad, lets put our differences aside and field in areas that are lucking.from the four dept in the field of play our deffense and strikers are the two dept Janza should work on.Joseph Musonda can be old but has speed hard working than the young players we have at our disposal.Mukuka Mulenga should come back in the fanal squad.Jacob Mulenga and Mbesuma we need them please Janza.its better we drop James Chamanga for Mbesuma
ok gud for mukuka mulenga, janza we nid mtonga, chansa, jacob, kola, even king david to beef up our team for afcon 2015
Guys I don’t think Collins has enough pace he’s too slow and one of the reasons zambia went out at afcon 2013. Some of these old players we should forget about them we need new blood. We risk being humiliated like we were in 2013 if we call old players. 2015 afcon is the time for new blood like lubambo musonda.
This is U-20 team is too good . halftime 2-0 up already. Lupiya with a brace.
I was suggested this website by my cousin. I’m not sure whether this post is written by him as nobody else know such detailed about my trouble.
You’re amazing! Thanks!
