Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua has tabled an offer for Chipolopolo Boys captain Stopilla Sunzu, Zambianfootball.co.zm understands.
According to the ZamFoot Crew sources in France, Sochaux and Shanghai have opened talks and there’s progress on the deal although it is still early days.
In the last 10 months, Sunzu has been linked with a host of clubs in France and England but a move failed to materialise in the summer despite scoring 4 goals for Sochaux last season.
With his fine form for Sochaux under then coach Herve Renard, many believed that the former TP Mazembe man will easily attract either a club from England or Spain but nothing happened and that seemed to have played on the player’s mind.
One stumbling block for Sunzu is his transfer fee which has been valued at over $3.7 million and many clubs in Europe feels he is not worth that much though most Zambians fans think he is better that most defenders in the top leagues .
“Take Sunzu to Barcelona or Manchester United. He deserves to play for such kind of teams and not these small clubs,” a renowned Kitwe based football administrator once told Sunzu’s Israeli based agent Nir Karin when he was in the country in April.
Now with January transfer window approaching, the main objective that is about selling him even to a Chinese club and not try to wait for that England move.
“It’s about the highest bidder but look at what is happening to Mayuka in England. Yes, if there will be any clubs from Spain, England interested in the boy, then his handlers are ready to give him that EPL chance but also time is not on his side.
With all due respect to China, Sunzu woiuld be making a huge mistake to go to China at this stage of his career.
It will be a mistake at his age to play in Taich league. Thats where one could play when you are about to retire.

He is not a best player ever Zambia had. But he is among the best defenders in africa at the moment maybe starting from 2012. Papy Ciese, Demba Ba, Dede Ayew, Gervinho, Drogba, all those have never managed to go past Sunzu to put a ball in the back of Zambian net. And where all best strikers on the continent even now for some.
Wait for the 2015 afcon to prove that again.

You ignorant bloggers, Chinese league is even better than South African league. The league is lucrative and rewarding hence, they are able to attract quality from all over the world especially Brazil, Argentina and Europe , just like the Indian league

Anyway, if Sunzu is as good ad you hype him hr would have been bought, the fact that he is wobbling in lower league is evidence enough of his lack, of quality . There are better players playing in that league than mediocre Sunzu. That team played in the world club championship, Drogba and Seydu Keita played in the same league and they are now playing for Chelsea and Roma respectively
