Zambia U17 duo impressing in Sweden

Zambia Under-17 duo Robert ‘Sugar Sugar’ Banda and James Nene Sibeene have impressed potential suitors in Scandinavia, the ZamFoot Crew understands.

Banda and Sibeene have been attending trials in Sweden for the past 7 weeks.

The two Sporting Lusaka players have featured in a number of friendly matches recently.

Banda provided 2 assists last week in one match as his team won 4-2.

Both players also featured in 1-1 draw on Sunday with Sibeene on the scoresheet.

“Robert [Banda] is more direct and quick. If he continues to work hard, there’s no reason why he won’t stay in Europe.

Sibeene has been dominant in midfield with commanding displays. The 18 year old has scored 2 goals in as many games.

“The one that looked the best yesterday was James [Sibeene], the central midfielder. His work rate is incredible and it helped the team a lot. He was down and defending, and then seconds later he scored a goal. So he can also work as a good box to box,” a ZamFoot Crew source revealed

“James [Sibeene] is something very interesting. To see a natural central player like that from Africa, born 2008. He understands the game and so calm,” said a French Ligue 1 scout after watching one of the friendly matches.

Last year in September, Banda spent time at Stockholm based AIK and trained with Nigeria’s Zadok Yohanna, who has already secured a £20 million plus deal to English Premier League side Brighton.

This is the second time Banda is attending trials in Sweden.

Both players were part of the Zambia Under-17 side which featured at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar last year.
