FC Leopards Begin Kaoma Training Camp as Promotion Bid Takes Shape

FC Leopards have stepped up preparations for the 2026/27 campaign by pitching camp in Kaoma, where the relegated side hopes to lay the foundations for an immediate return to the MTN Super League.

The Zambia Correctional Service-sponsored club has begun a seven-day pre-season training camp at Nyango Training School in Kaoma District, Western Province, as head coach Albert Kachinga intensifies preparations for the upcoming Transitional League.

Kachinga and his technical staff are using the camp to sharpen the squad’s physical conditioning, improve endurance levels and strengthen team cohesion ahead of what is expected to be a demanding campaign.

Speaking to the club’s media team, the veteran coach revealed that the Kaoma camp will be followed by a series of friendly matches in Lusaka to further assess his squad before the new season gets underway.

FC Leopards will also feature in a four-team pre-season tournament in Lusaka, where they are set to face fellow institutional clubs Green Buffaloes, Nkwazi FC and Immig FC. The tournament is expected to provide valuable competitive minutes as the teams fine-tune their preparations.

The upcoming season carries added significance for FC Leopards after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign saw the club relegated from the MTN Super League. The Correction Boys finished second from bottom of the standings, ending their stay in Zambia’s top flight and condemning them to life in the ZPL Men’s National League.
