Junior Chipolopolo prepare for second Group C fixture after opening campaign with victory over Malawi
Zambia have turned their attention to Comoros after making a winning start to the 2026 TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations/COSAFA Qualifier with a 2–0 victory over Malawi.
The Junior Chipolopolo Boys began their Group C campaign on Friday at Zimpeto Stadium in Maputo, Mozambique, with substitute Billy Daka scoring twice to secure all three points.
Coach Perry Mutapa and his technical team have wasted little time in preparing for Monday’s meeting with Comoros, with the squad stepping up preparations as they look to build on their opening victory.
Zambia will then complete their Group C campaign against Botswana on 23 September.
The 2026 COSAFA Under-20 Championship features 12 teams divided into three groups of four.
The three group winners, together with the best-ranked runner-up, will advance to the next stage in accordance with the tournament regulations.
Hosts Mozambique headline Group A alongside Mauritius, Namibia and Seychelles, while defending champions South Africa are in Group B with Angola, Lesotho and Eswatini.
For Zambia, the immediate focus is on Comoros as Mutapa’s side look to maintain their positive start and strengthen their position in Group C.
