Power Dynamos will head into Sunday’s Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield against Red Arrows without four players, the club has confirmed.
The MTN Super League champions have provided an injury update ahead of the curtain-raiser at Nkoloma Stadium, with forward Amine Hiver and left-back Evans Ogbonda both ruled out for approximately 10 days after suffering swollen ankles.
Striker Ismael Eddy Ankobo is facing a longer spell on the sidelines after sustaining a right-leg injury during training. The club expects the forward to be unavailable for approximately six weeks.
Centre-back Samuel Ayodeji Bamidele will also miss the encounter after falling ill and is expected to be unavailable for around five days.
The injuries were confirmed by Power Dynamos team doctor Dr Womba Kadochi.
Power Dynamos, who secured the 2025/26 MTN Super League title, face ABSA Cup holders Red Arrows in the traditional season curtain-raiser.
The Charity Shield will give both sides an opportunity to claim early silverware before the start of the 2026 Transition League campaign.
Power Dynamos will be hoping to put their recent CAF Champions League disappointment behind them after being eliminated by Al Merrikh of Sudan in the preliminary round.
Red Arrows, meanwhile, enter the contest after advancing in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 at Nkoloma Stadium.
