Zambia has been invited for a UEFA U18 eight-nation FAZ President Andrew Kamanga has confirmed.
Speaking during his weekly update, the President’s corner, Kamanga confirmed that Zambia was one of the team’s who will play in the invitational tournament.
The tournament is set to take place between March 29 to April 10 in Istanbul, Turkey.
“We are lucky that UEFA has invited Zambia for an Under-18 eight-nation tournament in Turkey that takes place from March 29 to April 10 in Istanbul. The eight teams will be drawn from five confederations with the nations drawn in two groups of four,” Kamanga wrote.
“Participating teams will play three round robin matches followed by finals. We have no doubt our girls will benefit greatly from this opportunity to display their talent on an across the continent platform.”
The team is expected to be a mixture of U20 Women’s National Team and U17 Women’s National Team players.
The likes of Blessings Zangose Zulu, Mapalo Maluba, Ruth Muwowo, Natasha Nkaka, Mercy Chipasula, Saliya Mwanza, Mary Mukupa, Harriet Matipa, Taonga Mubanga, Bwalya Namute Chileshe, Lweendo Hanongo, Nana Malanda , Margaret Gondwe among others.
The Copper Princesses will be preparing for the 2025 Morocco World Cup should they see off Benin just days before.
