U20WWCQs; Zambia to face Burundi

Reigning COSAFA champions Zambia will face Burundi in the second round of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup 2026 qualifiers, with matches scheduled for 19 and 27 September 2025.

The draw, conducted on Thursday afternoon in Cairo, confirmed that the winner of this encounter will face either Uganda or Namibia in the third round of the qualification series.

The FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers consist of four rounds, with the third-round victors advancing to a final clash against the overall winner of the (Togo vs Tunisia x Ghana vs Eswatini/South Africa) fixtures for a coveted spot at the global extravaganza.

Coach Charles Haalubono will look to guide the girls to the global stage.

Blessings Zangose Zulu, Blessings Maluba, Saliya Mwanza, Margaret Gondwe, and Ruth Muwowo will again be key for the Young Copper Queens.
