Zimbabwe coach Kalisto Pasuwa has blamed his side’s lack of firing power upfront after the Warriors lost 1-0 to neighbours Zambia in a Group D CHAN 2016 match in Rwanda.
Speaking in a post match interviews, the Zimbabwean highlighted that while Zambia had one real chance on target, his boys had better chances and could have buried the match in the first half.
“We missed a number of chances and it cost us. Zambia had one chance and they scored. We have to work on the attacking part of our team. We were playing very well until the restart, where we went down and they scored,” Pasuwa said.
Probably together with his Zambian counterpart George Lwandamina, both don’t have contracts but he has promised that he will work on motivating his players.
“We wanted to collect the three points, unfortunately it did not happen. We need to do a lot in terms of motivation towards the next game,” he added
Zimbabwe will face the fast improving West Africans Mali while group leaders Zambia takes on Uganda on Saturday.

hardluck mr pasuwa thats how football is, we wish u all de best for the next game, we also wish Zambia & Zimbabwe to qualify from our group coz we are all southern Africans.
If you don’t make use of your chances, it will be cries with tears to flood the Zambezi river.
Sorry coach, that is how tournaments are.Remember in 2012,Ghana played their lungs out but Zambia had two chances, one miss and one scored.
Coach motivate your players like you have put it and we shall cerebrating together they will sweep out fast improving Mali and Uganda.
meant shall be celebrating together as they will sweep out ……
idiots?
@ Balukanga, ati idiots ? these are our neighbors. we need to encourage them
I wish our southern neighbours Zimbabwe the best of luck. They should just win the remaining 2 games and that shall see them through and also help enhance our chances. Assuming we don’t do well in the next 2 games.
On our part, we just need one more win and we will sing Chipolopolo.
Any way zambia nd zimbabwe re the weekest, meaning zimbabwe is out zambia should invite chokocha to win or draw one to qualify our front line is dam blunt na fuluka kalen goal
Let us wait and see, so far the team has performed beyond expectations, my view and I am always right. We have a good team and I am sure we will beat both Uganda and Mali
Zambia has 3 points and Zimbabwe has 0 points. It is about points in the Group stage and no playing to the gallery. So Zim you have zero points
zambia has to start creating chances, o else we wont get away with it next time.
Has am much concerned zambia wll also beat uganda in this comng saturday despite havng being put chris katongo on 4ward
