Zambia dropped points at home on Friday in the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers following a goalless draw against Chad.
The Chipolopolo Boys were held by Chad on Friday at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in a match that left a lot to be desired.
Zambia coach Avram Grant started with a makeshift line up following the withdrawal of – Stopilla Sunzu, Lameck Banda, Edward Chilufya, Lubambo Musonda and Patson Daka – through injury.
Kabaso Chongo partnered Benson Sakala in central defence with Benedict Chepeshi and Obino Chisala playing on either side.
In midfield Miguel Chaiwa, Kelvin Kampamba and Klings Kangwa joined forces with skipper of the day Clatous Chota Chama, Kennedy Musonda and Joseph Sabobo Banda leading the attack.
Zambia were forced into an early change in the 26th minute after Miguel Chaiwa suffered a knock above his ankle and was replaced by Tandi Mwape.
Zambia came close a few times with Kennedy Musonda and Benson Sakala somehow clearly his own header off the line by mistake.
Chad also came close with Tandi Mwape needing to clear on the line.
Kabaso Chongo put in a brilliant shift at the back and was probably Zambia’s best player on the day.
Zambia’s qualification journey is far from being over with three more matches remaining, against Chad on next Tuesday, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast.
Zambia sit second in Group G with four points, behind Ivory Coast who have six points in two matches.
Chad and Sierra Leone have two and one point, respectively.

Grant is not good as for now he has been a good coach but as for now it’s a no he suppose to leave Zambia is a balling nation we have everything is just the management please let him go we want to play the africa cup and world but if you’re going to keep me that means the probability of us participating at the African cup of nation will be low but fact is you gotta leave great grant
