WSL: Eneless Phiri is in Lusaka, The three musketeers are in Chingola…ZESCO face Luyando, Indeni welcome Eagles as Nchanga play host to Buffaloes

The ZPL Women’s Super League enters week 14 action this afternoon with some exciting games taking place, electric wing wizard Eneless Phiri is in Lusaka while the three musketeers Maweta Chilenga, Natasha Nanyangwe and Evarine Susan Katongo are in Chingola.

At Independence Stadium in Lusaka, defending Champions ZESCO Ndola Girls visit struggling Luyando Foundation Girls in a game they are expected to pick maximum points.

The Ndola based outfit are itching to get back to winning ways after failing to do so in their last two games losing to Indeni and drawing with Red Arrows.

They face a tricky Luyando Foundation Girls side that is currently not doing well and are winless in their last 9 games.

Eneless Phiri is expected to run the show alongside Penelope Mulubwa and Avell Chitundu. Zegalicious Girls have won their last four meetings with Luyando Foundation Girls Scoring 15 goals and only conceding two.

At Indeni Sports Complex, Indeni Roses, one of the most in form teams in the ZPL Women’s Super League, welcome Green Eagles, another team doing well, it’s third vs fourth on the log table.

Ngosa Chabwe who has been in fine form with nine goal involvements (3 goals and 6 assists )  in November alone will again play a big role.

Grace Phiri, Edith Phiri, and Rhoda Chileshe will also be vital for the Rex Chanda coached side.

However won’t be an easy game as they come up against Green Eagles and their gaffer Albert Mphande. Eagles are on a three match winning streak.

Rachel Moono, Theresa Chewe, Sante Mukwata and Cindy Banda will be key for Eagles today if they are to get anything out of this encounter.

The last four meetings between these two teams have been shared evenly two wins apiece.

Elsewhere, Red Arrows welcome struggling ZISD Women as they look to continue to climb up on the log table.

The Airwomen have won four of their last six games and recorded an important point in their last game away at ZESCO Ndola Girls.

ZISD Women on the other hand have only recorded one win this season and  were handed two big defeats in their last two games, 4-0 and 6-0 to YASA Queens and Indeni Roses respectively.

Arrows have won two of the last four meetings with ZISD and lost just once. In fact the biggest defeat ZISD Women has ever suffered so far in their existence came at the hands of Arrows back in 2021, 13-0 , Grace Chanda with an impressive nine goals in that match.

At Sunset Stadium, The Bankers Ladies, ZANACO welcome, National Assembly as they look to make it six wins in a row.

Regina Chanda is back from National duty and will be expected to lead the attack after missing the 2-1 win away to Konkola Blades Queens.

Blessings Zangose Zulu will look to continue where she left off with her brace while Justina Zulu and Tisilile Lungu will also be invaluable.

Assembly recorded their second win of the season beating Nchanga Rangers Queens and will be hoping to build on that and possibly move out of the relegation zone.

At Nchanga Stadium, The log leaders Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club face off with Nchanga Rangers Queens. The last time they visited they beat Nchanga 8-0 with Ms Hat-trick Maylan Mulenga scoring five goals.

This time around Nchanga Rangers Queens are not convincing with two wins and two losses in their last five games while Buffaloes have won all their last five games and are unbeaten so far this season.

The three musketeers, Maweta Chilenga, Natasha Nanyangwe and Evarine Susan Katongo will be looking to continue their magic at Nchanga Stadium.

Nanyangwe is particularly motivated after opening her goal account for the Copper Queens scoring two very good goals in the Three Nations Tournament triumph.

Last season Buffaloes beat Nchanga Rangers Queens home and away scoring 11 goals and not conceding any.

On Sunday the action moves to Independence Stadium as YASA Queens welcome Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles.

YASA Queens have only managed one win over Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles in the last four meetings. Chipata Girls welcome Konkola Blades Queens on Wednesday.

The match between the Elite Ladies and Amazing Grace is unlikely to go ahead as Amazing Grace have a bereavement.

  1. Eneless must sign with mamelodi sundowns. That’s the offer she has on the table in opposed to those who are saying she must go to Europe. There is no offers from Europe as at now, and should take it.
