WSL: Buffaloes suffer first defeat of the season as Zanaco and Prison record wins

Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club finally suffered their first loss of the season as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat away at Nkoloma.

Red Arrows Women became the first team this season to beat the defending Champions thanks to a second half header from Esnart Mukubwe.

Buffaloes remain top of the log with 62 points but their lead has been reduced to just four points as Arrows move to 58.

Elsewhere, Shelly Masumo scored the only goal of the game to help Prison Leopards Queens to their second win of the season.

Evarine Susan Katongo and her ZISD Women teammates played all the football but it was the Collect Girls who walked away with maximum points.

In Mufulira, Zanaco Ladies edged Wanderers Queens 2-1 in a highly contested match.

Anna Zulu and Tisilile Lungu scored for the Lady Bankers while Angela Chibangu netted for the hosts.

The match was not without drama as both teams were reduced to ten players after Sara Jere and Grace Kapansa were sent off for unsportsmanlike behavior.
