Police Dove Queens goalkeeper Luyi Chinyonge was left elated with her performance on Tuesday when her team played to a 1-1 draw against Elite Ladies, Lusaka Dynamos in a rescheduled week 6 encounter of the 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League played at NASDEC Sports Complex.
Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew, Chinyonge said she always has self-confidence and this motivates her to work hard.
“The only thing that motivated me in the game against Lusaka Dynamos is my self-confidence, I always believe in myself and my friends too that we can do it and this always gives me the courage to work hard, so people should expect more great performances from me,” Chinyonge told the ZamFoot Crew.
The Fearless Girls Goalkeeper made some brilliant saves to keep her team in the game in a hard-fought 1-1 match against the Elite Ladies and she felt a draw was not the result they wanted but thanked God for a positive result.
Enelesi Phiri scored first for Dove before Grace Tembo leveled matters for the Elite Ladies to share 1-1 spoils in an entertaining match.
This weekend, the Solwezi based side will have a tricky tie against their sisters Nkwazi Queens in a week 9 Police Derby and Chinyonge is optimistic of a positive result.
“We are playing Nkwazi this weekend, so people should expect a good show from us and more effort in the game, we are ready for them.”
Dove Queens are currently occupying 11th position on the log standings with 5 points while Nkwazi is stuck on 9th place with 8 points after yesterday’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Green Buffaloes and a win for The Fearless Girls will take them up and above High Flying Nkwazi at par on points but better on goal difference.
