Zanaco Football Club coach Wedson Nyirenda has strongly criticized the state of the Nkana Stadium playing surface.
Nyirenda is not impressed with the current standards of the pitch, saying it’s embarrassing for the TV Game.
Zanaco beat Trident 2-0 on Saturday at Nkana stadium which is a temporary home of Trident FC.
Trident FC don’t have a stadium as their usual home ground (Sentinel ground) is not Super League approved.
Trident have also moved away from Sentinel Ground following disagreements on improvements of the ground with the owners.
Nyirenda Calls for Urgent Action to Improve Nkana Stadium Pitch Standard for ZSL Matches
Nyirenda cautioned against misplaced priorities, emphasizing that the first area of concern should be the pitch’s condition, as it has a direct impact on the quality of play and the image of ZSL.
With more televised games on the horizon, he urged all stakeholders to address this issue promptly to prevent a decline in standards.
STATUS OF NKANA STADIUM “Yesterday we played a league game at Nkana against Trident. I must say the standard of the Pitch surface is not good for the league like ZSL. Something must be done by the teams using it. So embarrassing for the TV game.”
“The owners Nkana FC are not using the pitch so the ones using it as home must surely make sure it is kept up to standard. I dont know what arrangement they have entered with owners to use the pitch but all needed is to keep it to standard. I believe many TV games are coming on.”
“We shall be crying about fallen standards and insult people who are not even to be blamed. I feel the first thing to look at should be the pitch and then the rest.” MISPLACED PRIORITIES.
