Unbeaten Zanaco could today go second on the log if they win in a week one rescheduled match against Kabwe Warriors to be played at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium.
The 2015 runners-up are currently third on 21 points having played two games less than first and second placed Zesco United who are on 26 and 22 points respectively.
Zanaco are fresh from a 1 – 1 draw against Zesco United in Ndola and will be looking to take maximum points from Kabwe as they only have their poor finishing to blame for failing to take maximum points against the Champions.
10th placed Kabwe Warriors also desperately need the win as three points will see them rise to 7th position on the log.
They are fresh from a 4 – 1 loss against Nkwazi in Lusaka but they remain a tough customer at home where they have not lost a game this season.
Their last game was against Forest Rangers and they posted an impressive 4 – 1 win to halt the Ndola sides rejuvenation under Patrick Phiri.
Josephat Kasusu who has scored 5 goals this season and Jacob Phiri will be the key men if fron for Warriors while Claude Bwalya who pulls the strings in the midfield will have to be at his best for the ‘Njanji ni Njanji’ boys to stop the ‘bankers’.
The other rescheduled match sees Nakambala Leopards and Nchanga Rangers who are separated by goal difference battle for the seventh position on the log in a week 8 rescheduled match.
Nakambala have had a rocky few weeks since the departure of Patrick Phiri and were beaten 1 – 0 by log leaders Nkana but they go in this game as favorites.
Rangers did not play over the weekend but lost 2 – 0 at home against Zesco.
