The proposal Spain camp for the Zambia U23 national team has fallen through hence the team will travel directly to Egypt for the U23 AFCON tournament.
The ‘Bola na Lesa’ Boys were scheduled to travel to Spain on Thursday, October 31st for a seven day Camp as part of preparations for the tournament but due to logistical challenges. The team will now travel to Cairo, Egypt over the weekend.
And Coach Beston Chambeshi will be without influential midfielder Enock Mwepu and star forwards Fashion Sakala and Patson Daka for the tournament-opening match against South Africa on November 9th.
The Austrian based duo will miss the match due to club engagements while Fashion Sakala received a red card during the second leg final qualifying round hence he is suspended for the opening match.
Zambia is in group B alongside defending Champions, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and South Africa. The top three teams at the tournament will book their places at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

No surprise there…Sometimes I think FAZ just tells us this nonsense to make us think they are working when they knew all along that there was no plan or money to go to Spain. Pathetic
Sometimes it is fans who dream of camping in Spain, then realise that we were thinking in sleep.
yes sir
All the best Zambia U-23.
