The Zambia U-20 National team has settled in Egypt ahead of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The team arrived in Egypt ahead of the TotalEnergies Egypt 2023 AFCON which kicks off on February 19.
Zambia will proceed to Ismailia for a camp preceding the tournament. The team that was in West Africa to play friendly matches arrived at 01:00 hours local time and were received by an official from the Zambian embassy in Cairo.
Chisi Mbewe’s lasses where in West Africa where they played to international friendly matches losing 4-2 to the Flying Eagles of Nigeria and 1-0 to Senegal.
Mbewe’s men will be reinforced by the arrival of Israeli based Richard ‘Chungi’ Ngoma and Cadiz B new acquisition Peter ‘Evra’ Chikola who will join the team in Ismailia.
Zambia is in Group C alongside Tunisia, Benin and Gambia.
Top four teams at the AFCON will qualify to the FIFA World Cup that will be held in Indonesia from May 20 to June 11.
