Zambia Women’s National team head coach Bruce Mwape will today unveil his final squad for the 2023 Turkish Women’s Cup the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Mwape is expected to name the squad that will travel to Turkey for the tournament.
Mwape and his technical bench have been drilling the local based players for two weeks now ahead of the tournament.
The ZamFoot understands that the likes of Ochumba Oseke Lubanji, Xiomara Mapepa, Hellen Mubanga, Agness Musesa, and enterprising midfielder Evarine Susan Katongo will all make the cut.
The team will meet up with the foreign based players in Turkey over the weekend.
The ZamFoot Crew also understands that there is big news regarding the squad regarding a key player.
The Turkish Women’s Cup will be held from 13-22 February 2023 in Alanya.
At the Turkish Women’s Cup, Zambia will open their campaign against Venezuela on 15 February at the Miracle Sport Complex before entertaining Slovenia three days later at the same venue.
The tournament is being played on a round-robin basis and the Copper Queens will play their third and final match against Uzbekistan on 21 February at the Miracle Sports Complex.
Zambia is using the Turkish Cup as part of preparation for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup which kicks off in July.
The Copper Queens are in Group C alongside Spain, Costa Rica and Japan.
