U-20 AFCON: Chisi Mbewe expected to make changes

Zambia U-20 national team head coach Chisi Mbewe is expected to make at least one change to his team this evening.

The Young Chipolopolo will square off with the Young Scorpions this evening in a must win encounter.

The 2017 Champions came from behind through a Rickson Ng’ambi goal to claim a point against Benin who will be up against Tunisia in an early kick off.

Ng’ambi is likely to start the match following his exploits against the Cheetahs of Benin.

Emmanuel Mukosha is also expected to start

Jeban Tembo is expected to maintain his place between the sticks ahead of Eric Makungu and Levison Banda.

The back four will likely remain unchanged with Amon Chulu starting at left back, Lombe Mutale on the right and Happy Nsiku and Gift Mphande making a central defensive pairing.

In Midfield Chisi Mbewe is spoilt for choice with Dominic Kanda, Lasmond Phiri, Charles Majapa Mumba, Julius Kumwenda, Emmanuel Mukosha, Chipyoka Songa and Peter ‘Evra’ Chikola all available for selection.

Upfront, Ng’ambi and Derrick Bulaya could partner in the hunt for glory.

For Gambia, striker Kajally Drammeh, Adama Bojang, Alieu Gibba and skipper Alagie Saone who was the soul of the defence against Tunisia in their opening match are expected to be vital for their charge.

A win for The Gambia will automatically qualify them to the quarterfinals while Zambia need the three points to be in good stead for a last eight spot.

The Group C games have been moved to Haras El Hodoud Stadium within Alexandria and will be played behind closed doors.

Kickoff for the match today (Friday) is 19:00 hours CAT (Zambian time) with Supersport and TopStar beaming the match live.
