Turkish giants Beskitas send official offer for Mapepa

Zambia Women’s national team winger Xiomara ‘Skamale’ Mapepa is the subject of transfer interest from Turkish giants Beskitas.

Mapepa’s club Elite Ladies took to social media to confirm the development. 

According to a post on their official Facebook page they have received an official offer for the pacy winger and are in negotiations with the Turkish club. 

“The Elite Ladies FC has received an official offer for Xiomara Mapepa from Turkish champions Besiktas Women’s Football team.

The two clubs are in talks and once a final position is reached, we shall update you all. The decision made will be based on the best interests of both the player and the club. “

Beşiktaş Women’s Football is the women’s football section of Beşiktaş JK, a major sports club in Istanbul, Turkey. From 2021 on, the team has been sponsored by the mobile phone company Vodafone Turkey. 

Beşiktaş J.K. won the 2020-21 Turkcell Women’s Football League season, their second champion title.

Mapepa attended trials at Djurgardens IF back in August. 

Mapepa was the top goalscorer in the 2022/2022 Women’s Super League having scored 17 goals from the 15 league games she played.

The Zambia U-20 Women’s national team graduate was part of the Copper Queens side that made history and qualified to the World Cup.

Mapepa also scored the goal that took Zambia to the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations away in Namibia when the Copper Queens came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with the Brave Gladiators.
