Zambian forward Clatous Chota Chama scored to earn Simba 1-0 win over Vipers SC.
It was an East African derby in Dar when Simba welcomed the Ugandan side at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Chama and Moses Phiri were named in the Simba starting line up.
And it was Chama who came out with a goal to earn Simba maximum points off a Phiri assist.
Phiri was substituted in the 75th minute.
Simba will host Guinea side Horoya on match day 5 on 18 March, 2023 before an away tie against Raja Casablanca a week later.
Simba are now second in Group C on 6 points after match day 4.
Moroccan side Raja Casablanca are leading the group with 12 points with Horoya and Vipers third and fourth respectively.
