Zambia coach Chisi Mbewe says the Young Copper Bullets will be playing on the quick counter-attack when they face Tunisia in their final Group C match.

The Cosafa champions are yet to win a match in the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations following their 2-2 stalemate against Benin and 2-0 defeat to The Gambia.

They need to beat the Carthage Eagles on Monday night to confirm their place in quarter-finals of the 23rd edition of the TotalEnergies AFCON U-20 in Egypt.

“We have to fight and win the match,” Mbewe said. “We trained well and focused on counter-attacks in order to beat Tunisia.”

The former U-17 coach says there is no excuse for Zambia who didn’t have a good start in the tournament.

“There are no excuses or errors from the match officials,” he said.

“We didn’t start the tournament well but we are improving every match and we know what we want.

“We can qualify for the World Cup and win the tournament,” he added.

Goalkeeper Jeban Tembo told journalists that the Copper Bullets still believe in their chances of going through.

“Everyone is ready to fight to win,” the young keeper said.

“We know that the match is important and crucial, so we will not waste the opportunity.

“We still have hope for promotion and we will do our best to book the qualification ticket.”
