Mamelodi Sundowns Assistant Coach Manqoba Mngqithi says Red Arrows did not give them a hard time compared to the game they played against Zanaco which had much intensity and was a little bit stronger than the arrows game.
Speaking after the match against Arrows, Mngqithi said that they expected a much higher intensity game considering the fact that Zambian teams are known for being very creative and dangerous on the ball.
“They did not give us hard time in terms of possession and moving the ball around from Left to Right and Normal Quick transition that you would expect from them,” he said.
Mngqithi also feels Zambian teams are capable of playing from the back because of technical players around the country which he did not see from Arrows.
“I did not see them building through the phases from the m build-up to consolidation phase and attack. They started relying on one of the strikers putting a lot of balls to him so that they could have second balls for me thaw areas not how you would expect a Zambian team to play.They did not give us a hard time in terms of Possession and knocking the ball around.”
He also said that Arrows have a lot of talented players but they still need alot of guidance because they lose possession quickly and easily.
Meanwhile, Sundowns Head Coach Pitso Motsimane applauded his 7 young players brought to the club for finishing well in the two games against Zanaco and Arrows.
Motsimane is also happy to be here as they have been we received and they would like to come back to Zambia next year.
The Brazilians have played two games in Zambia Holding Zanaco Fc to a goalless draw before edging Red Arrows 1-0.
Sundowns are currently in Zambia for Pre-Season preparations ahead of the 2019/2020 ABSA Premiership Season which kick off on 3rd August 2019.
