African Stars of Namibia head coach Prince George Koffie felt his side was better than the Zambian side despite having quality players.
Koffie was left hard done by the result as he believes the better side lost the match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
He questioned the legitimacy of the penalty given to Power Dynamos that was converted by Andy Boyeli to see Abayellow win 1-0.
“I am the type of a coach who doesn’t like to criticise the officiating but my team deserved to win,” Koffie told the ZamFoot Crew.
“It’s sad that we are out of this race ,but power dynamos will not go far in this competition, they have a lot to improve on going forward if they stay in the competition. Lastly, believe me everyone, the better side has been eliminated. My boys were the better side despite being knocked out.”
Boyeli’s goal from the spot was enough to send Abayellow to the next round after being tied 2-2 on aggregate thanks to the away goal rule.
The Kitwe giants have now booked a date with Tanzanian giants Simba SC in the second round.
