Nkana Football Club will host Konkola Blades in a Week 23 encounter this Saturday, March 7, at Nkana Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 15:00 hours.
Nkana head into the encounter under pressure after going winless in their last three matches.
The fixture will mark a new chapter for the Kitwe giants as interim coach Elijah Tana takes charge for the first time following the administrative leave given to head coach Mwenya Chipepo and his assistant Christopher Katongo after the team’s 2–0 loss to ZANACO FC.
Tana has warned Konkola Blades to come well prepared, saying his side has worked hard ahead of the encounter.
“It will be a very good game. Konkola must prepare. We have prepared adequately. Everyone has pushed and we are ready for Sharp Razor,” Tana said.
The former Chipolopolo defender also confirmed that Nkana will have a full squad available for selection.
“Leo (Leonard Makonga) has recovered from a hamstring injury, while Patrick Chooma is back to full fitness after being sick. As at now, it’s a full squad,” Tana added.
Konkola Blades come into the match full of confidence following a 1–0 victory over ZESCO United. The Chililabombwe-based side are currently unbeaten in their last seven matches, recording three wins and four draws.
Sharp Razor sit 11th on the league table with 27 points, just ahead of Nkana who are 12th with 25 points.
With both teams pushing for a top-half finish, Saturday’s Week 23 MTN Super League encounter promises to be a highly competitive affair.
