Chipolopolo defender Stopilla Sunzu made the most of his first game for Lille this calendar year when he scored to help them to a 3 – 0 win over Nantes.
Sunzu who has mainly be confined to the bench this year was given a rare start at the heart of the Lille defence and the Zambian defender accounted for himself well at the back.
Lille went ahead in the 19th minute through Eder before Eder himself turned provider when he set up Sunzu who headed home from a corner. Eder completed the rout with an injury time goal.
The 26 year old Sunzu has this made nine season appearances for his club.
gud for sunzu.soon big clubs wil chase for your signature
Sunzu deserve a special recognition for tha scoring record. This man scored for every club he played for..
I pray this goal be a game changer.
All the best with you Sunzu. Well done.
I have a feeling that his loan move will not be made permanent. He will head back to China where he will probably earn more than in France. For the sake of Chipolopolo, I would prefer he goes back to China where he can get some action because his staying on the bench has affected his form.
The coach has said Sunzu’s position has for outstanding players, so l will prefer him staying in France because of age than going to China which is the haven for already established players. One day he will be spotted by a big club.Okay Sunzu awabako!
Lets hope the goal changes his fortunes a bit and wins him more game time under this coach.
@Papa don’t speculate. This move will be permanent. China is a place for retirees not Sunzu. How is Sunzu’s move back to China going to help Chipolopolo. When Sunzu came back to join Lille in France his fitness and level of play had gone down because of being in China.
Otherwise this is good for the young man. Let him keep looking hard. Four years ago he was one of the best prospect in African soccer. I think he can get back to that level if he works hard. Out of the class of 2007 that went to the W.C he is the only player in Europe’s best 5.
This good for his confidence mostly but I hope it also changes his fortunes at the club ,the guy is lacking match fitness and it showed during the two legged showdown against Congo Brazzaville.
Sunzu only played in the first leg as he was suspended in the second leg after accumulating 2 yellow cards.
