Chipolopolo vice captain Nathan Sinkala is set to return to action after an injury lay-off in Zambia’s international friendly against Malawi next month.
The midfielder limped off the pitch with 8 minutes to play during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations group stage match against Congo DR 18th January and has not played a competitive game since.
In a team that will be led by skipper Rainford Kalaba, coach Honour Janza has also summoned USA based U20 holding midfielder Benson Sakala who starred for the U20 at the Junior AfCON earlier in the year to battle for a place in the holding role against Sinkala, Kondwani Mtonga, Justine Zulu and Paul Katema of Red Arrows FC.
Other notable call ups include Zanaco’s towering central defender Andrew Kwiliko who is set to hold down a national team place if club form is anything to go by.
Zambia play Malawin in an international friendly on the 10th of May at Nkoloma stadium.

What are the pitch conditions at Nkoloma stadium and why this particular stadium? I thought we would utilise Levy or Heroes for international games or is it that we don’t want to expose that they are not maintained.
The coach should really give the youngsters a run in this one, they should get more of a run than the senior players.

Now I see why Zambian coaches don’t excel at their job. Joe kanyemba was pathetic in that game against Mighty I don’t know which game this coach was watching…. honestly anyone who watched this game would agree with me that Joe didn’t do anything to warrant a call up to the national team if anything he was at fault for mighty’s goal
Are you judging a players ability based on one game??
Truth be told if you were a coach you would be a terrible coach if you can dismiss a player based on only one performance.

@ Dancadinho, Scott Ngokene is a very good and steady goal keeper who seem to enjoy what he does and he is one of the reasons why NAPSA conceded less goals last season but he can’t play for Zambia as he is Congolee.
Can someone educate me on who is eligible to play for COSAFA senior challenge. I used to think its only local players only but iv seen names like Mweene, Kangwa,etc.

I think its good for Janza he has been kept,coaching is not about having Uefa pro-licence,uefa A or b,Caf A or b.Guardiola once said “coaching is common sense” and Mourinho recently said “football is talent and strategy”.The top two coaches did not say it is Uefa A or B licence.Coaching courses don’t make1 to be a good coach.

COSAFA is for all players including international players. Kalu, Jonson Bwalya and the like have featured in it before. We just decided to use it as a place for developing upcoming players, otherwise it is open to all.
