Simukonda names squad to for Rio Olympic qualifiers

Zambia U23 national team coach Fighton Simukonda has retained the team that failed to qualify to the 2015 All Africa Games after succumbing to a 2 – 1 loss at home against Nigeria.

Simukonda who has now set his eyes on the Rio Olympics has named a 26 man squad which will face either Botswana or Kenya.

Botswana over the weekend beat Kenya 3 – 0 with return leg scheduled for 10th May.

The winner will then host Zambia on May 23 with return leg to be played in Zambia a week later.

The final round of qualifiers has Ivory Coast awaiting the winner with the first leg scheduled for July 18 at home and the return leg to follow on August in Abidjan.

  1. These west Africans are lunatics. They host all the tournaments how greedy and pathetic. How can Senegal host caf u-20 and caf u-23 how greedy.

    • Sorry, brother. Your choice of words is inaccurate & inappropriate. First, it is apparent u don’t understand the word “lunatic” & as such U just throw it anywhere, anyhow at will.
You may need to brush up on your vocabulary. GOOD LUCK on your English as a second language.

  2. Why do people laugh if one do not know English but you won’t if I bluff with Ashanti or Yoruba or whatever language you use in West Africa,so shallow.
