Sinkala given leave from Cosafa

Chipolopolo Vice Captain, Nathan Sinkala has been excused from National duty to allow him attend to family matters and will miss tomorrow’s COSAFA plate final against Malawi.

Team manager Lusekelo Kamwambi has told @fazfootball.com in South Africa that Sinkala will this weekend have a traditional marriage blessing ceremony and as such “has been excused from camp”.

The 2012 Africa cup winning midfielder yesterday led a resurgent Zambia that beat Ghana 3-0 in the COSAFA Plate semifinal at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace. Sinkala’s volley outside the box was Zambia’s third goal that silenced Ghana.

And coach Honour Janza has thanked Sinkala for his commitment to the team.

Sinkala has since left Sun City in South Africa for Lusaka.

  1. Even Mukuka Mulenga and Patson Daka should have been released to r enforce the U23 team currently in camp to face Botswana. With nothing at stake in COSAFA TOURNAMENT Zambia needs to ma scar the young Zebras to send a strong signal to the young elephants of IVORY coast.

  2. Fighton Simukonda ignore Mukuka by not calling him, even Janza had not called him until in the last minute when Bronson Chama couldn’t make it due to injury and Evans Kangwa got commited with club that Mukuka was drafted in. Look how instrumental the boy has been inthe last two games. The boy is a midfield genius and pipo have not been patient with him; suffering a one year injury is not easy to recover fully but from the way he is playing, he seems to be on his way to full recovery and become what made him 2013 COSAFA player of the tournament.

  3. This is how our lads flop when they go to Europe – professionalism or the luck of it. He forgets that he earns his bread and butter from this same trade. He knew he was going to be involved in the COSAFA which should have made him arrange his wedding after the tourney.

If we are not careful our team wont be ready for the Afcon qualifiers in less than a month’s time. This Janza thinks we are rebuilding to fail to qualify to Afcon 2017.

  4. Zambians never cease to amaze me,in the first place did he know that they will be marriage blessing on the 30 May for him to accept National team call?the answer is he knew it is just the Zambia thing now the space which was supposed to be used to try some lad has just gone to waste so useless and irresponsible, some players soo pathetic ,the coach soo pathetic, the administrators soo pathetic. How on earth can you even win trophies like this when clowns are the ones representing us.

  5. Watching the Namibia vs Madagascar COSAFA semifinal 2-2 after 36 minutes tells me Zambia should have sent the U20 MIXED with U23. The teams are young and fast.

  6. This is stupid, why schedule the damn wedding on a game day? I know family comes first, but seriously? Even my wife and her family knows, if my University, Chipolopolo or Chesea are playing, then everything else is at stand still in my house. Any weddings can wait. That’s just how it is and will always be like. The only thing that makes me move or compromise is my daughter period.

  7. SINKALA IS JUST SCARED OF READING THE SAY NO TO XENOPHOBIA MESSAGE! HE REALLY STRUGGLED TO READ AND HAVING PERFORMED WELL IN THE GAME AGAINST GHANA HE KNOWS THE MESSAGE IS ON THE PROGRAMME AGAIN AND THE ONLY WAY OUT OF EMBARRASSMENT IS TO FIND A LAME EXCUSE FROM NATIONAL DUTY. SHAME ON YOU!

PLEASE GIVE THE CAPTAIN ROLE TO SOMEONE LITERATE. LOL
