Acting President Dr. Guy Scott has assured the Chipolopolo of Government’s support at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea.
Scott who will still be president when the Chipolopolo leave for the AFCON tournament said this in a statement captured by the ZamFoot Crew after the game yesterday which he watched with his wife Charlotte.
The acting president yesterday joined the players and technical bench at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium to celebrate their victory after the match.
Scott and his wife are both ardent fans of the Chipolopolo and FAZ who will in the next couple of weeks present a training program for the AFCON bound team to the government will be more than glad to learn of the governments commitment to support the team in preparation.
In 2012, Scott led the government delegation to Gabon to watch the final which Zambia won after beating Ivory Coast while the wife has been keenly involved in supporting the women teams.
who will be sitting on the technical bench?
KK11 Janza will be the coach have you got a problem with that, if you do then stomach that Idea coz he aint going anywere!
coach. y so aggressive towards kk11. he is jst asking a question. and y so defensive towards janza. any relations with him sir?.
Good spirit by government. Let the team focus on next year’s afcon. Politics aside. There is just too much confusion at the moment, politically, in the country.
Okay Scott. Just start preparations now by sponsering there preparations, motivating them with allowances and maintaining peace and order in our country as we are hearding for presidential elections.
We don’t want to hear complaints from the players regarding non payment of allowances and fighting over it with officials or our supporters refusing to return back to Zambia as political asylum. So maintain peace and start preparing now..
Issac Chansa must come back we still don’t have his replacement yet, Chris katongo is been replaced by lubambo musonda and that’s perfect, but not chansa….!!!
Isaac Chansa? Maybe Kondwani Mtonga…
ZAMBIANS talks too much….. Its gonna be another first round exit…. So its best the govt stay out so as not to waste tax payers money….
@NONI(9JA SON), Jealousy gonna take you to your early grave son.
There will only be three (3) english speaking countries of all the teams that have qualified to afcon 2015, namely, Ghana, South Africa and Zambia.
The teams that have qualified are as follows:
Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo Brazzaville, DR Congo, Equatorial Guinea (as hosts), Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia.
Cameroun has duo language of both English and French. Even in class they teach both.
I agree with u bro @ Big 5. Infact lubambo has fitted in well and he is even better than CK11. Chansa is a perfect partner with Sinkala in the mid of the park yet there is no player who can match him in that role at the moment. Clubless Fwayo has been given a lot of chanses and bench warmer at Southampton is always starting for Zambia. Let us use the best we have as at now coz time is ticking.
@ NONI, your team can’t even manage to reach that 1st (qualification). Jelous boy, go to gsn and tease them.
noni. I can tell that u r weak. no strength due to the fact that naija failed to qualify. my deepest condolences.
@noni (9ja son) you no be fit to blog or talk nonsense on this site. This is a site is for real football fans from a football country that is a powerhouse, not flukes. I am sure 9ja people dey continue crying like a yoruba woman that just lost the husband. you people need to stop running your mouths like Okocha still playing oo. Zambia will dominate West Africa and win this Cup again. Until you people stop this boko haram practice, God will continue to punish you. Na advise oo, now go enjoy pounded yam with egusi soup.
We need to find a new coach before afcon. janza is a usles coach he cant read the game we are wining games on the briliance and dtermination of the team. janza must go
@ Billy …good analysis.
why can’t Zambians respect other nationalities???….can’t u comment without calling people names?….it really worries me the extent at which Zambians insult and look down on even countries that are extremely ahead of your nation in terms of exposure, sports, GDP and economic vibrancy……let’s learn to be less harsh on other starts..for we are humans first before our respective states……..peace!!!!
my frend after Zambia won afcon 2012 we suffered insults and hateful comments from ghanains and naijas. so most of our response to west Africans has not bin kind it I may say.
Before u insult Zambians read the nosense that was written by @Non above. Thats where it all starts from.
Ni wafa Wafa this time. I think we need chansa .
In my opinion,I think we do not need Isaac but what we need seriously is to find a right back, one central defender, right wide m/fielder and depth on the bench not those Chamangas I saw last night. As with with the Coach let him be that is the only way he will learn. When the team will be be playing those practice matches he will be also gaining some experience too moreover he wiil not externalize the GRUDERS because he is local.
surely Chanda is the missing link in our team. how I wish Janza could swallow his pride and recall chansa
chansa I ment to say
It is clear that Chansa has not been adequately replaced as has been alluded to by other bloggers. That is one main reason our defense looked so exposed and Sinkala was more or less ineffective. In needs some help in the middle. Whether Chansa comes back or not is up to the technical bench but they need to recognize the problem and come up with a solution before we are headed to AFCON.
nigeria is s useless champion that failed to qualify and defend their title what a team super chickens indeed.
We need Kondwani Mtonga back in the team for sure, which ever country he plays in does not matter, we need cover in the midfeild.
we need hichane himoonde, chansa, mutonga and vetran chris k back to the team
Dont just mention Chansa becoz he made a name some years ago, look even in a sub standard league of India, Chansa is warming the bench. Let the coach work with players who are active, we need players who are active, fit and with young legs. We want when we meet teams like SA players can run and even out run those fast wingers they have. Its too late for people to call for the outster of JANZA let him be, he has qualified us to AFCON which is beyond what most of us expected, more than those ney sayers like STUMPY who is always negative no matter what happens. I have never seen a positive contribution from this guy, i dont know how he leaves with his wife if at all he is married. I dont know how he interacts with people around him. Scott’s assurance of GRZ support is the right thing, please we need that more than anything.
Very true @Brave Rangers. We need to maintain Janza as coach. A new coach will just come and destabilise the already established rhythm of the team. All Janza needs to do is to strengthen the right back, central defence, midfield and attacking right wing (right wide midfield). We need to camp in South Africa at least a month and play some friendlies. Kudos to the Chipolopolo Boys we qualified, but the kind of football we are playing right now is not very convincing. If we face teams like South Africa, Gabon, Cameroon, Tunisia and Algeria, we will be exposed. We need to have depth in the team and play compact football closing spaces. Sometimes the players are just too far apart from each other. I have been watching the repeat of the match between Zambia vs CV. More needs to be done.
Janza kumbele
Bravo brave and infact let’s not over-rate ourselves into thinking we shall easily win it. We made a grave mistake of sticking with the same tired legs that would not have qualified us to this Afcon, thanks to Janza who took a bold decisions of incorporating youngsters (results are there to show-Bafana and ourselves) yet it is surprising that some can even dare cry for the tired legs. Had Nigeria used the younsters that won the U17 World Cup, by now they would be heading for the AFCON period.
For me winning the Afcon with our youngsters shall be a bonus, but our focus should be 2017 like Bafana gave Shakes the same target.
It is amazing to see bloggers still complaining about Janza. Please give the man a chance.
He took over from PB and HR with only 4 months remaining before the qualifiers started.
He had 6 qualifiers: lost 1; Drew 2, and won 3.
Goals conceded 2, Goals scored 6.
CV despite leading the group lost 2 games. Conceded about 6 and scored about11
So what more do you want from the coach?
Let him concentrate on EG 2015.
