Nkana striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba has turned down the South African ABSA Premiership side Platinum Stars.
Kampamba’s club Nkana have confirmed that the player has refused to join the club despite Kalampa and Platinum agreeing terms.
The Wusakile born and bred goalpoacher has indicated that ‘he would rather wait for AFCON and see how things progress and then he will make his decision.
Two weeks ago, Sate Sate in the company of Nkana secretary Ken Mwansa was in South Africa.

Those of you laughing at me that’s your problem. In this time it is shameful to have a 25 year old captain playing in China. Chris katongo was 30 when he went to China well into to the twilight of his career and here backing Sunzu for making a pathetic move to shanghai. Sate sate should be commended for rejecting platinum stars.
The biggest shame is having to rely on foreign leagues to prepare your national team players. The captain of the Chipolopolo should be playing in Zambia. The only way to improve Zambian football is to build a strong local league. There should be no need to push players to Europe and China.

Is it confirmed that Sunzu has gone to China?
@John. You are clearly misguided on what warrants a person to wear the captains armband. It doesn’t matter the club you play for, what matters is A. what the coach sees in you B. your ability to lead the team C. How you perform. I think Sunzu meets all the criteria for being Zambia’s captain regardless of whether he will be playing in Shanghai or not.
Granted, I too am not happy about such a move. The young man (and he is still a young man) has too much potential to be playing in such a league. Sunzu should have stayed in Ligue 2 until either the team got promoted or another team came knocking. Look at Jacob Mulenga…he was in Ligue 2 for a very long time before playing in the Erivedesie and subsequently featuring in the Europa cup. Unless this move is being pushed by the club, its a very bad move on Sunzu’s part.
