Red Arrows engage Chilombo as assistant coach

Red Arrows have appointed for Napsa Stars coach Hector Chilombo as new assistant coach ahead of the start of the 2016 season.

Chilombo, who at the height of his coaching career led Napsa to a fourth place finish in the 2014 season and led the U20 national team to the Africa Junior Championship in 2015 will serve as assistant to Matthews Mwale after being handed a one year performance based contract by the Zambia Airforce sponsored side.

“After months of wide consultations, Red Arrows Football Club wish to inform our fans, football family, the media and general public that Mr. Hector Chilombo has been appointed as Red Arrows Football Club Assistant Coach,” a statement from the club read.

Chilombo was fired by Napsa Stars in April 2015 before taking over at lower league side Indeni who also showed him the door after a string of poor results.

He takes over the role which was previously held by Albert Kachinga at Arrows.
