ZPL Men’s National League side Forest Rangers have appointed AFCON winner Chintu Kampamba as the club’s First Assistant Coach, the Ndola-based outfit has confirmed.
Kampamba joins Head Coach Boyd Mulwanda on the technical bench with immediate effect in a move the club believes will boost the team’s push for improved results before the end of the season.
In a statement, Forest Rangers announced that “Forest Rangers FC has appointed Zambian football legend Chintu Kampamba as the club’s First Assistant Coach, joining Head Coach Boyd Mulwanda as part of the technical bench.” The club added that the appointment “is effective immediately and runs until the end of the season.”
The former Chipolopolo midfielder brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role, having been part of Zambia’s historic 2012 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad.
Forest Rangers expressed optimism that his presence will have a positive influence both on and off the pitch, noting that “Kampamba’s addition will strengthen the technical setup and enhance team performance as Forest Rangers continues to push for improved results.”
The club further highlighted his pedigree and mentality, stating that “his experience, leadership, and winning mentality are expected to positively impact both the squad and overall team morale.”
Kampamba remains one of the most respected figures in Zambian football, and his arrival is seen as a major boost for the Ndola side as they aim to climb the league table.
The club’s Executive Committee has also thrown its full support behind the appointment and is hopeful the former international will play a key role in the team’s ambitions.
“The Club’s Executive Committee has welcomed his appointment and looks forward to his contribution in the team’s pursuit of success,” the statement read.
Forest Rangers concluded by officially welcoming the former international to the club: “Welcome to Forest Rangers FC, Coach Kampamba.”
