Power Dynamos are now just six points away from winning the 2022/2023 MTN Super League following a 3-1 win over Chambishi.
The Kitwe giants have opened a 10 point lead at the summit as they move to 55 points ten more than NAPSA Stars in second place.
Abayellow welcomed Chambishi on Sunday afternoon looking to extend their lead at the summit following losses by Green Buffaloes and Forest Rangers on Saturday.
Mwenya Chipepo’s team started strong creating chances and Jacob Kaunda could have put the hosts in the lead only for him to choose the wrong technique and shoot wide of the goal.
Power finally opened the scoring in the 32nd minute through Andy Boyeli who made no mistake after being put through on goal by Joshua Mutale’s beautiful ball.
A mix up at the back allowed Mulambia to get the ball and square to Boyeli for his second of the match at the death of the first half.
Three minutes into the second stanza, Joshua Mutale produced a beauty as he struck from outside the area beating Mhango in the Chambishi goal.
Mathews Simbeye pulled one back for Chambishi but it was a little too late for Lewingtone Mujembe’s men.
Power Dynamos now just need 2 more wins from the remaining 5 games to win the league as things stand, a 61 points tally means they will emerge as winners of the Super League.
Chambishi remain stuck second from bottom with 28 points after 29 games and in serious threat of relegation.
