Power Dynamos gore Mahia 3 – 0 in international friendly

Zambian representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup Power Dynamos started off their preseason tour of Kenya on a high note as they cruised to a 3 – 0 victory against Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.

The Power midfielders Kennedy Mudenda, Larry Bwalya and Richard Kasonde had the fun fare as they each contributed a goal in the game which saw the hosts miss two penalties.

Gor Mahia should have gone ahead in 26th minute but Timothy Otieno’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Joel Kanyemba after a Power Dynamos defender had handled inside the box.

Mudenda, however took advantage from the spot to put Power ahead after Collins Okoth had committed a foul inside the box.

U20 international Larry Bwalya then scored his first goal in his debut game just after half time after being played through by hardworking Alex Ngonga.

Mahia were again awarded another penalty which Kanyemba again saved only for Richard Kasonde to score his first goal of the calendar year to give Power a three goal cushion.

There were also appearances for new signings Kelvin Mubanga, Luka Lungu and Felix Sunzu who came in for Ngonga and Jimmy Ndhlovu.

Power are on a 10 day preseason camp and will also play Sofapaka and Tuskers.
