Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler has spoken highly of his new acquisition, Mwape Musonda describing the striker as quick and strong.
Musonda signed for Pirates from Africa Sport Youth Academy and was spotted in South Africa where he was studying at Boston College.
“We identified Musonda in a few friendlies. He is a player we felt we needed to bring in so that he can grow as a player and gain experience,” Tinkler told BDLive.
“Now he is going to rub shoulders with the likes of Kermit Erasmus, (Lehlohonolo) Majoro, Lennox (Bacela). It will build him into a better and strong player.
“He is very quick, strong and loves to score. He can shoot with both feet and from any angle. And when I say shoot, I mean rockets. Some of the goals he scores are phenomenal.
“We have a lot of belief that he will become an extremely good player. We are waiting for him to get his work permit. He will probably join us in the next week or two.”
The former Zanaco player signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Buccaneers.
Not really an excellent move. SA teams mostly its the administration the scout players and not the coach. Tinkler is just covering it up.He is not the one who spotted him. It is the administration. The chances are that they will change the coach and Musonda will be reduced to the bench. Best SA teams are Jomo Cosmos and Ajex Cape Town
Gents that watch the ZPL on the regular, what is the true story here? is this kid as good as his new coach describes him to be. I don’t remember ever reading about a Mwape Musonda who has lit up the Zambian league.

I watch the league but if he was at zanaco then he is not as good as moses phiri.

If he is good and scoring more goals than the tried and tested, why not!!
He should be tested at tried at under 20 and 23 respectively,if he proves that his worthy being part of senior team then he should be accorded the opportunity to feature,maybe he could be our messiah where goals are concerned.
