Patson Daka in contention for a place in the Foxes team to face Swansea

Striker Patson Daka returned to Leicester City training after the Chipolopolo Boys early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Zambian international trained in Leicestershire on Monday and is expected to be part of the Foxes squad for today’s match.

Leicester boss Enzo Maresca for the first time in a close to a month has three strikers to choose from against Swansea City.

Maresca had been reduced to just one forward in Tom Cannon at the start of this month with Jamie Vardy injured and with Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho at the Africa Cup of Nations.

But Vardy has since recovered and now Daka back in training after AFCON early elimination with Zambia, Maresca has three forwards available to him.

Prior to leaving for AFCON,  Daka provided four goals and two assists in six starts for City .

“He did very good,” Maresca said last Friday when discussing Daka’s performances at Afcon. “I watched some moments of the game. He continued in the way he was doing here.

“I’m very sorry for him for his international team, but I’m very happy for us because he can be back very soon. He has done very good there and hopefully he can continue with us. For Tuesday, hopefully yes (he will be involved).”

The Foxes and Swansea face off in the Sky Bet Championship on this evening with kick off set at 21:45pm.
