The Football Association of Zambia, FAZ have confirmed that the Zambia v Guinea game has been sold out.
And a check by the ZamFoot Crew has revealed that tickets which were going for K20, are now fetching around K70-K80 on the black market.
Below is a statement from FAZ Communications Manager Desmond Katongo.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has been flooded with inquiries over ticket sales for Match Day One of the Total Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
We are happy with the overwhelming response from members of the public that has seen all the tickets sold out for the opening game between Zambia and Guinea.
Initially there were concerns over perceived lack of publicity around the Total Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
These concerns have clearly been dispelled by the complete sale of match tickets for the Zambia versus Guinea game.
This clearly shows that people were well informed and were eager to buy tickets and watch the games live.
We wish to confirm that all the tickets for the opening day have been sold out but however encourage fans to purchase tickets for upcoming matches.
The Football Association of Zambia would also like to encourage Zambians to buy tickets for other matches and enjoy a complete feel of the tournament.

FAZ wishes to inform members of the public that fans will not be allowed to buy more than five tickets per individual.
It has come to our attention that some fans have been bulk buying tickets for the sole purpose of re-selling them at an exorbitant price.
This is not only illegal but also against the spirit of fair play which is an important principle in the football world.
We also want to advise fans that tickets are being sold across Shoprite outlets throughout the country and therefore they should not only crowd themselves in particular designations.
The Football Association of Zambia would also like to thank our fans for the level of patriotism that they have shown through the buying of tickets and also promoting spirit of the tournament.
The government has been extremely supportive of this venture with His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu providing all the necessary support for the team. The President will lead thousands of fans at Heroes stadium in cheering our boys as he has always done

everything in the pf regime is upside down. our bank accounts are being taxed, useless toll gates everywhere. znbc wont televise the tournament. a move that will further kill an already ill publicise d tournament. kaponyas are hungry they need to eat thus capitalising on this new investment. kamanga is very useless
You condemned kalu for flooding tickets on the black market.what of you idts
I have bough a ticket for K20 at K80.Is this transparency you have been singing about.
us pipo we ar to blame how can you buy a ticket from person instead of u buying right place of sale.Zambians aweeee mwandi
Egwugwu u r a fool and an idiot who has lost his money to ticket scalpers! And u blame Kamanga. For the first time tickets have been sold out and the income known. The next step is how do we avoid scalpers in future, having moved away from corrupt system of selling tickets. Any suggestions guys!
Did Egwugwu deserve those kind of insults? What kind of a creature are you, was a K60 lost yours? All you needed was advice him not to encourage such crooked ways people are doing to make money. Dont bring your frustration in your life to innocent people, actually this also shows that regardless the cost of his ticket he is determined to go and support his team.
Ohhh hold on SLINYOKO,The idiot is you ,how can kamanga allow each kaponya/person to buy 30 tickets and go at black market to sell them at exorbitant price.Dont you think FAZ is an organisation which is suppose to plan and identify any possible risk such as selling more than 3 tickets to one person ? For the game i love i have bought a ticket at K80 for me not to miss out am not a broke ass like you. Your boss kamanga has also said No replicas for the FANs but after the tournament.meaning we are going to wear our old nike jerseys are you blaming kalu even on this one?Now let me tell you if kamanga sleeps with your sister it is not me succumb to his failures but yourself.
Thats what I just told this idiot called Slim (am now compelled to insult him too!), if FAZ put rules like no one buys more than 2 or 3 tickets the number of tickets on the black market would have been far less. Just because you want to go and support your team at all cost doesnt make you an idiot. Why does some people pay more money for the 1st Class than the economy Class but when it crushes it wipes out everyone?
Those were clear goals faz tulandileniko pliz
This is the news that the AFCON executive of Hisa Hayatou should be told. He has been taking the AFCON Finals to countries where they can’t even buy tickets to fill a quarter of the Stands.
Zambia is a country where people watch and cheer football.
For sure Igweee must be informed of these .
I am sure Hayatou will regret y the senior 2019 was not awarded to Zambia. Under 20 Afcon opener sold out. Wow !! Anyways all the best to our young guns in the opening match.
FAZ should not be excited that all the tickets have been sold out because we might find ourself in an empty stadium because one kaponya in the street were buying 30tickets why did faz allow this to happen
You are very right
But those guinea mimbulu kaya am shivering.i doubt if truly thoz guys are anywhere near u- 20 however,go go chipolopolo 1-0 is enough because we will also beat egypt and draw mali.the mali game will be a great game to watch
I cant understand the thinking of the people we have entrusted to run the football affairs. The fact that the tickets have been sold does not translate into the stadium being full to capacity. The tickets were lowly priced and people took advantage the buy in bulk for resale.. Most of the people who bought these tickets wont even go to the stadium, they just want to make money out of it.
Exactly. Now I see why one has to apply for tickets when buying World Cup Tickets. They should have come with a system where some ID is required to buy, and each person on buys limited tickets
Ine I’m happy that the tickets have been sold out and very confident that the sta
dium will be full. I personally bought ten tickets I gave some to my close friends and some to family so that they don’t miss out on this historic momen. Not all bulk buying is negative.
