Zambia Super League side, Kabwe Warriors has confirmed the departure of head coach Ian Bakala from the club.
The club took to social media to confirm Bakala had left after the two reached a mutual agreement.
“Kabwe Warriors Football Club can confirm that Coach Ian Bakala has left the club on mutual consent.”
Kabwe Warriors Chairman Hayden Dingwall confirmed the development to Kabwe Warriors media.
Dingwall went on to wish the former Lusaka Dynamos boss good luck in his future endeavours.
“Today we bid farewell to coach Ian Bakala. We thank him for the contribution he made to the club. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” he said.
The former Chipolopolo Boys midfielder was first appointed, first assistant coach for the Magnificent People’s team on 21st April 2021 before being promoted to head coach a week later after Chabinga was sent on administrative leave.
The ZamFoot Crew understands that former Zambia U-17 national team head coach Chris Kaunda will be named the next head coach for the Kabwe based side.
Warriors are currently 10th on the log with 23 points from 17 games played so far. Bakala’s last game was the 2-1 loss to the Bankers, Sensational Zanaco.
