Gossip & Transfer news: Zambia’s no.1 transfer column

The Zambia Super League January transfer window is now in full swing and a number of players are already on the move and the ZamFoot Crew are following everything up.

ZESCO United are the only team that has so far made confirmation of an acquisition in the name of Angolan forward Pedro Miguel.

Let’s now look at the deals that are done and the strong rumours according to ZamFoot Crew sources close to the players, agents and the clubs.

Striker Baba Basile from Zanaco to Kansanshi Dynamos.

The Cameronian forward joined the Bankers from Lusaka Dynamos in July last year but has failed to seal a place in the starting line up for Zanaco.

Basile has now moved to North Western Province and the deal is already done the ZamFoot Crew understands. He will be unveiled any day this week.

Striker Brian Mwila from Buildcon to Power Dynamos

Former CASHPOINT SCR Altach striker Brian Mwila will move to Kitwe from Ndola as he joins Power Dynamos.

Mwila has already said his goodbyes to his Buildcon teammates.

Mwila was very influential for the Chipolopolo Boys during Wedson Nyirenda’s tenure and scored a brace and helped Zambia to a 3-1 win over Algeria in the 2018 World Cup qualification match.

With Mwila on their books Abayellow will have a real shot the top slot they are pushing for this season.

Striker Jackson Jesse Were from ZESCO UNITED to Kansanshi Dynamos

The Kenyan talisman has joined the Mabanga Boys following his departure from the defending Champions, ZESCO United.

Kansanshi Dynamos are pushing for a top four finish and with Jesse Jackson Were and Baba Basile they have a real shot at realizing that dream.

Were is one of the best foreign players to play in the Zambia Super League in the last two decades winning 4 Super League titles and 2 ABSA Cups.

Were had a prolific career at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium scoring 108 goals making him Zesco United’s all time leading scorer.

Striker DAVID Obashi from Lusaka Dynamos to Nkana F.C

Nigerian forward David Obash is expected to be unveiled as a Nkana player in the coming days.

According to a ZamFoot Crew source close to the player, the deal is almost done and he will be officially unveiled soon.

Obash leaves Lusaka Dynamos following an unsuccessful stint at the club. Him and Tshite Mweshi made a brilliant partnership at Prison Leopards before their move to Elite.

Striker Pedro Miguel from Trident To Zesco United

The Angolan forward was officially unveiled yesterday as a ZESCO United player following the completion of his move from National Division One side, Trident.

Miguel has penned a two year deal with the Ndola based outfit which will see him at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium until December 2023.

Kingsley Hakwiiya from Zanaco to Buildcon

The former Zambia U-20 defender is expected to make move to Ndola following in the footsteps of the likes of midfielder Christone Jere.

Attacking Midfielder Prince Mumba from Kabwe Warriors to Zesco United/Red Arrows

Chipolopolo midfielder Prince Mumba’s contract at Kabwe Warriors came to an end and is rumoured to be heading to either Red Arrows or ZESCO United.

The diminutive midfielder and former Zambia U-20 national team skipper however prefers a move outside the country with Europe as his target.

Defender Aaron Katebe from Indeni to Power Dynamos

Former Nkana and Zanaco defender Aaron Katebe has been linked with a move to the other side of Kitwe, Power Dynamos.

Mangani Banda from Zanaco to Nkana/Power Dynamos

The 2017 U-20 AFCON winner part ways with Zanaco last month and is on the hunt for a new home.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that ‘Gigi’ is on the radar of both Kitwe giants in Nkana and Power Dynamos.

Marvin Jere from Lusaka Dynamos to Red Arrows

Lusaka Dynamos midfield ace Marvin Jere could finally be making a move away from the Elite side after several failed attempts.

Jere has previously been linked with a move away from Lusaka Dynamos but ends up staying at the club. In 2019 Jere even joined Napsa Stars during their Livingstone preseason outing.

Tshite Mweshi from Lusaka Dynamos to Zanaco

Striker Tshite Mweshi has been linked with a move to Sunset Stadium after his short unsuccessful stint at Lusaka Dynamos came to an end.

Albert Kangwanda and Thomas Zulu from Kafue Celtic to Power Dynamos/Zanaco off

Power Dynamos have been known to prefer young talent to experience which has worked well for them and the Crocs duo could be a new addition but the deal is off.

Kafue Celtic and Abayellow already have a good working relationship with Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu having gone to Arthur Davies Stadium on loan spells.

Warriors left back in Tanzania

Kabwe Warriors left full-back Shafik Matambuze is reported to have reached an agreement with a Tanzania Second Division side.

Batambuze is expected in Tanzania this week to sign a one-year deal.

Paul Banda to Kansanshi

Kansanshi Dynamos are interested in signing ZESCO United’s 20 years old midfielder Paul Banda on loan.
