Former Sensational Zanaco striker Chitiya Mususu has joined Zambia Super League side, Zesco United, the club has confirmed.
The Lanky forward has penned a two-year deal with the Ndola-based outfit. Chitiya on the books of South African outfit TS Galaxy before him joining Zesco United.
“ZESCO United Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of former TS Galaxy Football Club striker, Chitiya Mususu. The former Zanaco Football Club hitman has signed a two-year contract agreement with the eight times Super League champions subject to completing medicals.”
ZESCO United Football Club, Technical Chairman, Peter Mutale who disclosed the development to Zesco United media expects Mususu to add firepower to ZESCO United’s striking force as the former league champions continue on their impressive trajectory to return to the FAZ/MTN league title.
“We are excited to secure the services of Mususu. He has signed a two-year agreement with us after agreeing to personal terms,” Mutale said.
“Mususu has the qualities of a striker that can score goals for our team. He had an impressive run at Zanaco and knows our league very well. His partnership with Kalengo, Makwata, Sakala, and Were will surely deliver quality upfront. We aim to sign quality players because it’s the only quality that will bring success to the club,” Mutale added.
The former NAPSA Stars forward has vowed to prove critics wrong and help Zesco United to win more trophies.
“This is an exciting move for me because ZESCO United is a big football club with a big fan base. I played in the local league with Zanaco, another big team in the league. I am very excited about this challenge,” Mususu said
“I have been following the local league and know a lot about ZESCO United. I can’t wait to team up with their strikers and contribute to the development of the club by scoring goals and winning trophies.”
“ZESCO United is a big club which has won trophies and has been a regular in the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup. My target is to help the side win more trophies and become successful locally and internationally. It is also my aim to prove my critics wrong that I can also make an impact at ZESCO United like I did at other clubs.”

Chitiya Mususu has traversed the world in search of football fortune to no avail. So this failure will make a difference at Zesco. I doubt, maybe cos our standards have gone down.
Zesco busy signing failures.
I doubt if there will be any value Chitiya will bring to Zesco. He failed at Zanaco, we never saw him at TS.
Zesco should recruit quality players if there are to challenge for continental glory.
