Chipolopolo Boys Micho has romped in Frenchman as a phyical trainer ahead of this week’s mouthwatering back to back Cameroon 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria and Zimbabwe, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal
The unknown Frenchman arrived in the country eight days ago, and straight away was in the thick of things as he watched the ABSA Cup quarter finals at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka with Micho.
The Chipolopolo Boys’ technical bench is headed by Micho with Osward Mutapa Jnr as his assistant coach while Stephen Mwansa has returned as goalkeeping coach.
Micho’s two Serbian compatriots have returned to Europe for family reasons.
“The two gentlemen have gone back to Europe. They really wanted to stay but they had pressing family issues,” a ZamFoot Crew insider said.
The Frenchman linked up with the Chipolopolo Boys at Tecla Hotel where the team have set base.
On Thursday, he was spotted at Heroes Stadium taking the players through their paces by the ZamFoot Crew.Â
This is reminiscent of the arrival of Zambia’s most famous and loved Frenchman. Herve Renard arrived in 2008 on the back of being Claude LeRoy’s physical trainer in Ghana.
The new physical trainer will be a massive hit if he helps Micho to earn Zambia qualification to the AFCON finals in Cameroon.
Zambia is bottom of Group H with 3 points, two behind second placed Zimbabwe while Botswana and leaders are on 4 and 10 points respectively.
From the four games played, Micho has been in-charge of two matches against the Zebras of Botswana.
Zambia face Algeria on Thursday before wrapping up the qualifiers against Zimbabwe in the latest edition of the ‘Battle of Zambezi,’ next weekend.
