Former Chipolopolo Boys coach George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina has been named as the new Nchanga Rangers head coach as earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew.
Lwandamina has replaced Robert Tembo who was recently sent on administrative leave with his entire technical bench following a string of poor results.
The former ZESCO United coach has been joined by Boyd Mulwanda, Israel Mwanza as first and second assistants with Yona Phiri as goalkeeper coach.
Humphrey Malikoni has been appointed as the physical trainer. Rangers took to social media to confirm the development.
“Nchanga Rangers Football Club has appointed a new technical bench, led by Head Coach George Lwandamina.
The club has also appointed Boyd Mulwanda as First Assistant Coach, Israel Mwanza as Second Assistant Coach, Humphrey Malikoni as Physical Trainer, and Yona Phiri as Goalkeepers Coach.”
Lwandamina had his most successful coaching period at ZESCO United winning four league titles during his two stints at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The former YANGA SC boss won the league title in 2014 and 2015 after joining ZESCO United from Red Arrows in February 2014, adding back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018 in his second spell.
His new club Nchanga however are winless in their last eight games losing four games and drawing the other four.
Lwandamina and his new technical bench will start their reign this coming weekend when they host defending Champions, Red Arrows on Saturday.
