The Young Copper Queens started their COSAFA U20 Women’s Championship on a fantastic note thrashing Lesotho 9-0.
Bwalya Namute Chileshe, Lubasi Pumulo and Ruth Muwowo scored a brace each.
Saliya Mwanza, Mary Mbewe and Jessy Zulu scored a goal each.
After a frustrating 10 minutes, Zambia opened the scoring in the 11th minute, Lubasi Pumulo with a close range finish.
Pumulo doubled the lead a minute later with another close range finish while Saliya Mwanza made it 3-0 in the 14th minute.
Bwalya Namute Chileshe made it 4-0 with a brilliant strike after being put through on goal by a fine Bupe Banda pass.
Mary Mbewe got onto the score sheet scoring from close range after a fantastic run.
Bwalya Namute Chileshe completed her brace nine minutes into the second half before second half substitute Ruth Muwowo could grab her brace.
Jessy Zulu scored a brilliant goal to complete the Lesotho demolition.
Saliya Mwanza was named the player of the match.
Zambia returns to action tomorrow when they take on South Africa at 15h00.
