Natasha Nanyangwe has hit the ground running in the FAZ Women’s Super League following her loan switch from Green Eagles to run away Champions, Green Buffaloes.
The attacking midfielder netted 24 goals and assisted 16 times for Eagles to help them come out tops in the FAZ Lusaka Provincial Women’s League.
After a lengthy battle between the two military teams, an agreement was reached and Nanyangwe finally made her debut for the Zambia army-sponsored side on 3rd November coming off the bench to put up an impressive shift against Indeni Roses in the goalless draw at Green Square ground in Arakan.
The ZamFoot Crew caught up with Nanyangwe to chat about her new challenge and life around in her fast-growing career.
The young midfielder is happy to be back on the pitch doing what she loves. She opened her goal-scoring account in her third goal netting the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win over Lusaka Dynamos Ladies FC something that has her excited as she aims to score more.
“First and foremost I would love to thank God that is back in the pitch. I feel great to be back in the pitch despite that they are only a few games remaining for the league to finish, but all in all, I feel good,” she said.
“I felt very happy because I scored against Lusaka dynamos one of the big teams in our league and am looking forward to scoring more goals,” she added.
Nanyangwe is already eying big accolades in her young Super League career but will have to be a bit more patient to see them come to fruition.
She feels the competition in the Super League is stiff because of the number of experienced teams in the league and amount of National team players involved in the games.
“The level of competition is different compared to the provincial league in the sense that most of the teams like red arrows, zesco, indeni, are highly experienced, some even played the Olympics and 90% are senior national team players so the level of competition is different,” Nanyangwe told the ZamFoot Crew.
“My dream is to become the top goal scorer if not that then the best player of the league but I think that can be next season,” she added.

Copper Queens skipper Barbra Banda is Natasha’s role and she wants to one day play alongside the China-based forward, Margaret Belemu, and U-20 skipper Evarine Susan Katongo.
She has already played alongside Lushomo Mweemba, and Irene Lungu who also are among players she always wanted to play alongside.
“Barbra Banda motivates me a lot, and I would love to play alongside Mwakapila but unfortunately she is unwell, and the likes of Chanda (Grace), Katongo (Evarine Susan),Belemu, Miso, and of course Barbra,” she said.
Nanyangwe has scored three goals and assisted two goals in the six games she has played for the soon-to-be crowned Champions, Green Buffaloes.
Nanyangwe is among the top three nominees for the Lusaka Province League player of the season accolade alongside Ruth Ngoma and Ellessy Chilandula.
