Striker Mwisho M’hango scored a brace as he guides Malawi U-20 Men’s Football team to a 2-1 victory against Zambia at the COSAFA Region 5 Youth games tournament in Namibia.
M’hango is being linked with moves to top South African clubs.
Zambian clubs have also made enquiries but it’s too late as he is on the verge of joining Germany side Hanover 96
“I have signed with Hannover 96 and I will be traveling to Germany after these Cosafa Region games,”
He expressed his excitement about the move, stating, “I will become the first player to play in Germany Bundesliga. This is a great story not only for me but Malawi as a country, this can be a window of opportunity.”
He also encouraged other young players to persevere, emphasizing that dedication will open doors.
He recently attended trials at Austrian side Sturm Granz.
Last year he also attended trials in Iceland
The Ascent Soccer Academy player is currently leading the scoring charts with 5 goals and 2 assists in Namibia.
The team has reached the final of the competition for the first time since 2003 when they lost to Zambia.
Zambia will face Angola on Saturday in the third/ fourth play off.
